pebbles with Mary Sleigh

My treat for January/February was to take a four day workshop with Mary Sleigh.  The class was called ‘not just a lazy daisy’ and I have no idea what Mary originally intended but she adapted the class to the group.  We had fun learning a few new stitches, and how to use colour and thread in interesting ways.  One week the homework was to use French Knots and pebbles.  This is the start of my piece.  I haven’t made much progress with the other homework, when it is finished I will post a pic.

Yea for French knots! I have to find a way to sneak some into my cross stitch sampler. I love your stones.

It would look better if the photo was the right way round, I clearly haven’t got wordpress right yet…

On my blog reader, feedly, the photo showed a round hoop, which is what I assume you used. Strange.

beautiful. I’d love to see it when you have more done on it as well. the oval hoop is probably from settings of the thumbnail because when I click on the picture to see the full view, the hoop is round.
